Our Story

Upfrnt was founded in 2022 by Ophelia Tan and Indradeep Nandy, driven by a simple yet transformative idea. While pursuing his Master's degree in Wealth Management in Singapore, Indra—who has a background in civil engineering—was offered a discount by his landlord for paying rent upfront. This experience sparked the idea for Upfrnt, as Indra realized that many property owners would value the option to receive rent in advance.
To bring this vision to life, Indra partnered with Ophelia, an experienced entrepreneur with a background in building management and business development across HR, insurance, and mining, who had successfully exited several ventures. Together, they are committed to developing Upfrnt into a comprehensive proptech/fintech platform designed to transform the rental experience for both property owners and tenants.

Our Leadership

Sheldon Lee and Choo Wee Chyn subsequently joined Upfrnt as co-founders alongside Ophelia and Indra, bringing additional expertise and vision to the team. Sheldon, with his extensive background in real estate fund management, and Wee Chyn, an architect and real estate development professional, have been instrumental in scaling Upfrnt’s innovative solution across Asia and the U.S. Together with a talented team of professionals, including experts in technology, finance, and property management, they are transforming the property management and rental experience with a forward-thinking, collaborative approach.
